SPIRITUAL WARFARE AND THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD

As we know, life is an on going challenge. While we believers face the challenges and struggles of our daily walk, we must understand that we are engaged in a spiritual
battle each and every day. Spiritual Warfare is an essential aspect of our everyday life. Regardless of whether we know it or not, or chose to believe it, we are constantly under the attack of the enemy.
Spiritual Warfare is an invisible war in the spiritual realm. It is not a war against flesh and blood, but is a war that has been waged by satan and his cohorts (demons) against believers and non believers as well. It is a war between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness. Ephesians 6:12 says: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (KJV) Satan and his kingdom seek to “steal, kill, and destroy” the children of God by any means possible. They seek to conquer and destroy our souls, spirits, minds, and bodies in order to prevent the perfect will and purpose of God from manifesting on this earth. In other words, satan and his kingdom have waged a fierce war on this earth in order to tear down the kingdom of God.
Even though the Bible speaks of Spiritual Warfare, there are many Christians that are not very knowledgeable about it. Many are under the attack of the enemy unknowingly. The subject even makes some people uncomfortable. There are some who prefer to ignore the issue and choose to believe that forces of evil don’t really exist. Some individuals believe that Spiritual Warfare is just about casting out demons. These perceptions are very untrue. Satan and evil spirits are real, and Spiritual Warfare involves mainly the process that is taken in preventing demonic attacks.
As a result of lack of understanding and misperceptions in this area, many people today are suffering in different situations and do not understand why. They are being hindered from spiritual growth, increase, and blessings. One of satan’s main tactics is to conquer the minds and thoughts of individuals in order to hold them captive by strongholds, mindsets, or certain thought patterns and imaginations that will hinder them from reaching their full potential in Christ. Some people who are tormented and oppressed by the devil lose hope or give up because they do not understand how to effectively engage in warfare or fight the good fight of faith.
“But thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”! (1Corinthians 15:57) (KJV) God has not left us powerless, or ignorant of satan’s devices (wiles). Through God, we are more than conquerors! We are over comers! God has given us powerful and essential weapons that we should use every single day that will enable us to be victorious in battle against the enemy.
The Apostle Paul explains in Ephesians 6:11 that we are to “Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil”. (KJV)
We, as Soldiers in the Army of the Lord should be fully and properly clothed each day in Jesus Christ. Being fully and properly clothed in each piece of God’s armor at all times prevents and protects us from the attacks of the enemy. It is a powerful weapon in Spiritual Warfare. Not only will we be fully and properly dressed, but we will be fashionably dressed as well.
The Bible makes it quite clear about the type of war that we are fighting. It is absolutely necessary that we take heed to it and understand the importance of how to engage in it; such as being completely knowledgeable of God’s armor and the necessity of walking in it.
We will be beginning a new series in Wednesday night Bible Study on “Spiritual Warfare and the Whole Armor of God”. If you have any reservations or questions concerning Spiritual Warfare, you are invited to come out and join us. We will be studying Ephesians 6:10-18 in detail. The Bible says in Hosea 4:6: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (KJV) Therefore, my dear friends come out to Bible Study. Let us study, learn and share together about a very important issue of our every day walk; walking in “The Whole Armor of God.”
